Bowers & Wilkins HQ Visit - Worthing, West Sussex
Exclusive Cinemas are very proud to be authorised dealers for world renowned audio experts, Bowers & Wilkins, and recently made a visit to their HQ in Worthing, West Sussex
Bowers & Wilkins began as a radio and electronics shop in Worthing. It was started after World War II by John Bowers and Roy Wilkins who had met while serving in the Royal Corps of Signals during the war.
John Bowers became increasingly involved in the design and assembly of loudspeakers, eventually setting up a small production line in workshops behind the shop. This paved the way for the modern day B&W Group Ltd, which also includes audio equipment manufacturers Rotel and Classé.
We were treated to a full tour of B&W's current production facilities, which proved to be a fascinating experience.
The flagship Nautilus demands craftsmanship from skilled people. For instance, the Nautilus shell's pearlescent finish comes from 12 carefully applied lacquer coats containing aluminium and mica particles, and a unique baking and curing system.
We were also lucky enough to gain access to B&W's listening rooms.
Bowers & Wilkins remain one of the most well known loudspeaker brands in the world and have successfully expanded into many other areas of high quality audio products.
Exclusive Cinemas are pleased to offer these products as an official UK dealer. Please get in touch if you'd like to know more about B&W products.
